Yesterday something truly special happened.

In the final few minutes of Mamamia Out Loud’s Friday episode, Jessie Stephens shared MyComms with thousands of listeners across Australia. As two women who built this platform from the ground up, we sat there stunned, grateful and (yes) a little teary.

You can listen to the moment here (jump to the 53-minute mark).

For us, this wasn’t just a media mention. It was a moment of recognition, of visibility and of the extraordinary power of women supporting women. In an episode that spoke so honestly about exhaustion, advocacy and showing up for the people who need us, this recommendation felt like a hand on the back saying, keep going.

If you’re here because you care deeply about someone who communicates differently, who finds the world overwhelming, or who’s been left out of things they should’ve been part of, welcome. You’re in the right place.

We created MyComms because we’ve spent our careers in classrooms, clinics and homes because we know – communication threads every part of life. We saw the pressure on families experiencing communication breakdowns and the burn-out in our colleagues trying to keep up with the resourcing demand of visual supports. And we saw what happens when someone can’t access information in a way that makes sense to them: missed opportunities, heightened anxiety and sometimes, trauma.

So we built something different. Something personal. Something grounded in dignity, flexibility and understanding.

So, what is MyComms?

  • A simple, powerful app for creating visual supports like task breakdowns, daily schedules, weekly planners and choice boards
  • Used by families, therapists, educators and support workers
  • Designed for people of all ages – from early years to adulthood, and into aged care
  • Available on both Apple and Android devices
  • Fully NDIS-fundable – a full year costs less than a single hour of therapy

Whether you’re supporting an autistic child, a teenager with ADHD, a loved one with an acquired brain injury, intellectual disability or a parent navigating dementia – MyComms can help bring clarity, calm and connection.

We’re deeply grateful to Jessie Stephens and the Mamamia team – not just for featuring us, but for reminding us of the power in women lifting each other up.

And to everyone who has downloaded, shared or reached out: we see you. We appreciate you. And we’re building this with you, every step of the way.

If you have feedback, questions or just want to say hi, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at info@commspec.co, we can’t wait to get to know you all!

With deep gratitude,
Jess & Jenn
